Arends writes a personal finance column that appears online at the Journal twice a week. He also writes a business news column once a week for MarketWatch. He has previously worked as a business and finance columnist for the Boston Herald and TheStreet.com, and for a variety of publications in Great Britain including Private Eye and the Daily Mail.
He has received a Best in Business award from Society of American Business Writers and Editors, and was part of the Boston Herald business team that won two SABEW awards.
Arends was educated at Cambridge University in England, where he received a double First Class honors degree in Modern History, and at Oxford. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
